Situated
in the heart of the Eastern Townships, on the shores of Lake Memphremagog, is
the historical village of Georgeville, known as Copp’s Ferry from 1797 until
1822. It is located in an area that has, since the early 19th century,
attracted Montrealers and New Englanders in search of an ideal lifestyle. Rich
in its offerings, the Eastern Townships has a long history of business, trade
and leisure.
It is in Germany, where the fine art gallery is still active today, that the
Nitsche family first became known to museums, collectors, and connaisseurs. We
are the fourth generation collecting and dealing in fine arts. Our forefathers
began this tradition in Silesia in 1910.
The opportunity arose to branch out and to pursue this passion in North America
alongside Le Relais Copp's Ferry. Behind the house of Joshua Copp, built around
1810, we have established our new fine art gallery.
In our inventory, you will find a wide range of art and antiques, including
furniture, silver, bronze sculptures, porcelain, glass, as well as a small
selection of jewelry. We specialize in paintings ranging from old masters to
modern works. The origins of our works of art are mostly European, Canadian and
American.
Having our roots in Germany and a gallery in Lubeck, we are closely connected
to the European market. If you search for a specific item that we do not hold
in our collection, please let us know. We would be glad to assist you.
Furthermore, we can arrange to have your purchased items shipped to you at your
convenience.
